E-learning, Distance and Online Education at a Glance
E-Learning Glossary http://www.learningcircuits.org/glossary.html E-learning means using new multimedia technologies and the Internet to improve the quality of learning by facilitating access to resources and services as well as remote exchanges and collaboration.
Everyone has something to say about e-learning, but are we communicating in the same language? You will find a collection of terms and their definitions to help you "speak" e-learning in this E-Learning Glossary. This glossary is updated periodically and reviewed by a panel of e-learning experts.
Distance Education at a Glance http://www.uidaho.edu/evo/distglan.html Distance Education is an educational situation in which the instructor and students are separated by time, location, or both. Education or training courses are delivered to remote locations via synchronous or asynchronous means of instruction, including written correspondence, text, graphics, audio- and videotape, CD-ROM, online learning, audio- and videoconferencing, interactive TV, and facsimile. Distance learning does not preclude the use of the traditional classroom. The definition of distance education is broader than and entails the definition of e-learning.
